Interesting and factual reader about animal migration. The “I Like Reading” series has a blended text format, with simple first grade vocabulary in the first paragraph, along with a pronunciation guide for difficult words (wildebeasts –WIL-duh beests). After this is a box with more advanced information, suitable for third grade level reading, or for reading along with the child.
Do Animals Migrate? looks at why animals, birds, even insects and sea life, move about. From the well-known snow geese migrations between north and south, to the curious jellyfish migrations between shallow and deep water, curious readers will find a lot to spark their curiosity. Even I was surprised to find out that red crabs live in the forest and only go to the ocean to mate and lay eggs!
I highly recommend this useful and educational book!
